Manoni Succeeds Vitale as ABM Chairman
The former vice chair will start his term immediately.
SourceMedia CEO Doug Manoni has been named chairman of ABM. Manoni, who most recently was vice chair of the business media association, will succeed outgoing chairman Neal Vitale.
Vitale took over as 2013-2014 chairman in the spring of 2013. His nomination, in fact, coincided with the official and successful vote to approve the merger between ABM and SIIA.
In the fall of 2014, he announced he was stepping down from his post as CEO of 1105 Media, but remained on the company's board when it named Rajeev Kapur as the new CEO.
Around that time, Manoni oversaw the sale of SourceMedia to Observer Capital, a private equity firm started by Joseph Meyer, the CEO of Observer Media, which owns New York Observer.
Manoni's term starts immediately and, along with ABM's managing director Mike Marchesano, faces a rapidly changing B2B media landscape.
"It's my intention to set an aggressive agenda to broaden our perspective on member business models and enhance member company intelligence and performance through expanded member services, fulfilling the passion and the vision that [Mike Marchesano] and I share," says Manoni in a statement.
