Long-Time Printer Calls It Quits
Rosenthal was founded in 1868. It merged with Reach Publishing Systems, publisher of regional magazines and direct mail advertising publications, in 2004. Donald Rahilly, president and CEO of S. Rosenthal at the time, became chairman of the combined companies while Reach’s founder, Slattery became president and CEO.
In January of this year, the company announced it was combining its printing operations, at the time based in Cincinnati, Ohio and Portland, Tennessee, into a single location in Portland, Tennessee. Management offices were to remain in Ohio.
According to its Web site, S. Rosenthal specialized in digital prepress, 8-unit web presses, saddle stitching, perfect binding and ink jet addressing.
