Lessiter Publications Buys Farm Journal Title
Move consolidates competitive titles.
Lessiter Publications announced that it’s purchased the assets of Implement & Tractor from Farm Journal Media.
Terms weren’t disclosed.
The bimonthly title, which is distributed to 8,000 farm machinery dealers across the U.S., had been a major competitor of Lessiter’s own portfolio of farm equipment information products.
Greg Petersen, a columnist with Implement & Tractor’s former parent group, Machinery Pete, will also provide content and analysis for Lessiter.
“Implement & Tractor has been the primary competitor within these equipment dealer niches we serve,” he says. “Implement & Tractor has the greatest longevity in this niche, and should bring us growth opportunities in qualified circulation, advertising and a volume of historical industry content that pre-dates the invention of the tractor itself.”
Farm Journal Media bought the magazine in 2008 from Scissortail Productions, putting it under Machinery Pete’s purview shortly after that business was acquired in early 2014.
