Kiplinger’s Launches Business Travel Site
New section to offer budget travel advice.
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has launched the Business Travel Center on Kiplinger.com. The site serves as a guide for businesses and their employees to “make the most of their travel dollars,” the publisher says.
“We have been digging more deeply into the demographic makeup of our Web audience, and discovered this niche,” Doug Herbrecht, Kiplinger.com director of new media, tells FOLIO:. “Readers of the Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine reflect an older, wealthier audience looking to make the most of their money, and they travel quite a bit, both for business and leisure travel, especially oversees.”
The new Business Travel Center is an extension of the site’s Business Resource Center, and will feature online rankings of travel Web sites, slide shows, an archive of travel articles from Kiplinger’s and Kimplinger.com, videos, and other multimedia content. Soon, the Travel Center will include a user-generated content for business travel ideas, Harbrecht says.
“As we build out the new Center, we think we can attract a larger audience around value and convenience, helping small- and medium-sized businesses both hold down costs of business travel while at the same time cutting down on delays and annoyances that can mess up an important deal,” he says. “We’re hoping to partner with some well-known and highly-regarded Web sites in the business travel space.”
