Internet Ratings Service to Measure Video, Widgets
San Francisco-based Internet ratings service company Quantcast, has created a free service for the measurement of video and widget audience tracking. The ratings site will enable Web publishers and advertisers to track and report demographic trends online for free at quantcast.com.
The new service will offer Web publishers the opportunity to track and measure the effectiveness of both their own content as well as advertiser content located on their Web sites.
The new capabilities can report on all Flash-based media, which includes video and online games as well as Web-based and downloaded desktop widgets. Publishers can measure the usage of videos and widgets as well as the sharing of their videos and widgets across the Web.
The beta version of the service reports on reach, plays, category and amount consumed, while the more advanced program also provides frequency, distribution, and demographics and lifestyle assessments.
