Hearst Names New International CEO
Publisher taps former longtime subsidiary chief executive.
Hearst today promoted Duncan Edwards to CEO and chairman of Hearst Magazines International, and executive vice president of Hearst Magazines. Previously, Edwards served as CEO of the National Magazine Company, a subsidiary of Hearst.

Last June, Victor F. Ganzi resigned as Hearst CEO. The reason for his departure, he said, was irreconcilable policy differences with the board of trustees over the future of the company.
As part of the promotion, Edwards also will serve as vice chairman of the National Magazine Company, which publishes 19 magazines in the U.K. Edwards joined the company in 1989.
