Fry provides award-winning printing to publishers of trade publications, consumer and city/regional magazines, custom and special interest magazines, consumer and B2B catalogs, STM and association journals, loose-leaf manuals, heatset telephone and commercial directories in color, and softbound books. We produce digest, standard, slim jim, and tabloid size products with print runs of 10,000 up into the millions, either saddle stitched, perfect bound, or collated, shrink-wrapped, and drilled in line.
Equipment At A Glance
Prepress: Our experienced staff utilizes current technologies to assist in reducing your internal production times and costs while allowing you more control over the many variables associated with electronic page production. Services include onsite workflow consultation, equipment installation and training, film scanning, file conversion services, high quality drum four-color separation scanning, automated pre-flight services, online storage and retrieval of digital assets, automated page processing, soft and remote proofing, and digital editions.
Pressrooms: Fourteen heatset (wide and standard web, most with closed loop color control systems), ten non-heat and clean heat, and two sheetfed presses
provide a press to fit your every production and scheduling requirement.
Bindery: Twenty-five bindery lines, most with in-line mailing capability, provide saddle-stitched, perfect bound or loose-leaf assembly. Video Jet, Harris, and Domino inkjet systems on 17 binders custom images – inside, outside, or both – for saddle or perfect bound. Virtually unlimited selective binding opportunities on all kinds of cover-coatings. Polybag lines, single and double-sided tippers, in-line tippers, and bellybanding capabilities.
Distribution: Fry’s unique geographic position places it within one day’s drive of 17 of the country’s 29 BMCs, and almost 250 of the 463 SCF mail processing facilities. That places about 70 percent of the U.S. population within a day’s drive of Fry. Complete list processing and logistics planning services, pool shipping, co-mailing, and dynamic entry provide maximum efficiencies and predictable delivery. On site mail verification and USPS stations on premises with 24-hour plant loading.
