is reporting a 7.47 percent growth in advertising revenue and 2.72 percent increase in ad pages in October when compared to the previous year. Overall, revenue is up 4.89 percent through October, ad pages 2.5 percent. American Business Media
president Gordon Hughes said that he anticipated growth in October. “Print media continues to gain ground as the economy improves,” Hughes said in a statement. “And, with more print properties enhancing their brands with multi-platform approach, we feel this growth will continue.”
HBO announced this week that it has acquire the rights to two of Gourmet editor Ruth Reichl's best-selling memoirs – Comfort Me With Apples: More Adventures at the Table; and Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise. Reichl was formerly a restaurant critic at The New York Times and food editor/restaurant critic at The Los Angeles Times.
