Craftsman Press West Acquired by Quad/Graphics
Quad/Graphics, a privately held printing company based in Sussex, Wis., has acquired privately held commercial printer, Craftsman Press West. The addition of Reno, Nev.-based Craftsman Press West accounts for Quad/Graphics’ 10th printing plant, expanding the company to the West Coast. Quad/Graphics plans on replacing the company’s existing presses with newer, more advanced technology.

WTWH Media Launches New Engineering Title and Site
Design World, a new monthly magazine from California-based WTWH Media, will launch in October and will focus on design engineers in the medial, packaging, automotive, appliance, off-highway, semiconductor, aerospace, factory automation and wireless markets. The accompanying Web site, www.designworldonline.com, will feature downloadable 3D CAD models, real-time industry news, product information and educational features.

CMP Taps Tech Target Founding VPs
CMP Technology has tapped two former Tech Target VPs. John Cox, formerly vice president of sales for Tech Target, will join as vice president of account development for the company’s Business Technology Group. Cox spent his early career in CMP sales management and also served as national director for CMP’s Business Technology Group. He returns to manage the company’s initiative to expand its customer base to include a larger number of small and medium-sized businesses.
Lisa Johnson, formerly vice president of marketing for Tech Target, joins as senior vice president of marketing for CMP. She will be responsible for branding the company’s 100 publications, 150 events and 200 Web sites.
