T-Mobile to Use MoMac Platform for Consumer Magazine Hosting
T-Mobile plans to use mobile media publisher MoMac’s ASP mobile publishing platform Gomedia to host a range of consumer lifestyle magazines on the t-zones mobile portal. MoMac will provide a fully hosted and managed service for T-Mobile and its subscribers.
Using MoMac’s portal will provide T-Mobile with continuously updated service for which the magazines will magazine and update their own content. The magazines included in the launch are Vogue, FHM, Glamour, GQ, Heat, NME and Nuts. The content will include a mixture of editorial, competitions, user generated content, wallpapers, ringtones and videos.
In addition to its agreement with T-Mobile, MoMac works with publishers such as Emap, Condé Nast, Dennis and IPC to build and maintain subscription based mobile magazines and download sites.
Anderson Brothers Partner with Kodak on Digital Printing Initiative
Anderson Brothers, a commercial printer based in Sioux City, Iowa, has entered the digital printing space with the installation of the Kodak NEXPRESS 2500 Digital Production Color Press and Kodak NEXGLOSSER Glossing Unit.
The company decided to begin offering digital printing at the request of their customers, said Anderson Brothers president Tony Anderson in a statement. The NEXPRESS 2500 press meets a variety of printing needs from entry level to high volume environments and allows customers to upgrade presses as their businesses grow. The NEXGLOSSER Glossing Unit offers cost-effective, high impact glossing using clear dry ink for enhanced image quality and a laminate-like gloss for higher marketing impact.
Fry Communications Acquires GANCOM
Fry Communications has acquired the assets of GANCOM, a Harrison, Pennsylvania-based provider of digital print and direct mail services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition will allow Fry Communications’ customers expanded access to direct mail services and support including digital/variable printing, programming/list services, and lettershop services. Based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Fry provides premedia, printing, distribution, fulfillment and publishing services.
CMP’s Channel Group Launches New Plaform
CMP’s Channel Group has launched CRNtech, crn-tech.com and CRNtech Live, a multiplatformed handbook and Web site to help IT providers decide which products and services will accelerate sales and services revenue growth.
Starting in March, CRNtech will produce CRNtech Live events around the country where vendors can demonstrate new technology offerings.
