TONY SILBER (blog)
Editor and Publisher
Tony Silber is editor and publisher of FOLIO: and Circulation Management. He was part of the acquisition team at Red 7 Media that purchased FOLIO:, CM, and their related products in August 2004. Before the acquisition, Silber in 2003 launched M10, the executive-level magazine and information service for the magazine industry. Prior to M10, Silber was publisher of FOLIO: and Circulation Management when it was owned by Primedia. Silber was also editor of FOLIO: from 1998-2000. Silber has a bachelor's degree in history from the State University of New York at Albany.
MATT KINSMAN (blog)
Managing Editor
Matthew K. Kinsman first joined Red 7 Media as senior editor of M10 Report in the fall of 2003. Working side by side with industry vet Tony Silber, Matt helped build M10 into one of the industry's must-reads. He was promoted to managing editor of FOLIO: in September 2004 and currently helps direct the editorial vision of the magazine and its related Web site and conferences. Prior to joining Red 7, Matt spent several years with Primedia's trade pub group working as a features editor of PROMO Magazine. Prior to that Matt served as the founding editor of MIN's B-to-B and before that worked on a variety of niche newsletters and market research projects.
DYLAN STABLEFORD (blog)
Senior Editor, Digital
Dylan Stableford is FOLIO:’s senior editor, digital. He was formerly mediabistro.com’s managing editor, overseeing its news and blog network. Dylan got his journalistic start at the pioneering music news website Sonicnet and later at MTV.com. Other professional highlights include serving as a senior producer for Biography.com, a memorable temporary gig as a producer for The Howard Stern Show on E! and as house manager for the Westport Country Playhouse during Paul Newman's return to the stage in Our Town – a job that included ordering and storing Newman's nightly beer order (four cases, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale) and one night searching for Newman's broken tooth in the fourth row. (He never did find it.) His writing has appeared in numerous online and print publications, including New York magazine, Salon, Filter, Deadspin.com and the Jamaica Observer.
JASON FELL (blog)
Associate Editor, News
Jason Fell is associate editor of news at FOLIO: magazine, and edits it’s two industry e-newsletters, FOLIO: Alert and Publishing Technology. Prior to joining Red 7 Media, Jason spent more than two years at Soundings Publications as a staff writer for its flagship Soundings magazine. He also has worked as a reporter with the Journal Register Company of newspapers and in the research department at Boston magazine. Jason is a graduate of Emerson College and holds a BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing.
JOANNA PETTAS (blog)
Assistant Editor
Joanna has been with FOLIO: since September 2007. Before joining FOLIO:, Joanna taught writing and literature courses at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, where she earned a master’s degree in English and creative nonfiction writing. Also at UMass Boston, Joanna served as nonfiction editor of The Watermark, UMB’s student-run literary journal, and contributed to Lux, the on-campus magazine. While earning her B.A. at Boston College, Joanna worked for two years as assistant to the president of SR Consulting, a public relations and marketing firm in Newton, Ma.
DAN TROMBETTO
Art Director
Dan Trombetto is the Art Director of FOLIO: magazine. Prior to joining Red 7 Media, Dan worked for five years as an Art Director for World Wrestling Entertainment. Dan has also designed for several trade publications, newspapers, and print shops for over a decade. He attended the Connecticut Institute of Art where he earned a Certificate of Fine and Commercial Art.
RORY BEGLIN
Associate Publisher
Rory Beglin is the Associate Publisher of FOLIO: and Circulation Management magazines. He brings with him over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry prior to his start at Red 7 Media in February 2008. Rory started his career working with BPA and then he moved on to the publication side of our industry working for Ziff Davis, New York Law Media, Technology Marketing Corp, National Association of Realtors and Soundings Publications over those years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Dayton, Dayton Ohio.
JOHN ELLERTSON
Advertising Director
John Ellertson is the National Accounts Manager for FOLIO: and Circulation Management. He joined Red 7 Media in 2005 as a Regional Sales Manager for FOLIO: and Circulation Management magazines. Before joining Red 7, John was the National Sales Manager for the leading interactive entertainment trade magazine, IE (GameWEEK). He also worked for AirAge Media as a Regional Sales Executive and has more than 10 years of advertising sales experience.
BRAD HERRING
Regional Sales Manager
Brad Herring joined the Red7 team in March of 2007 as a sales manager for the FOLIO: brand. Prior to working at Red7, Brad was a sales representative for Boat Digest magazine. Brad is a graduate of Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business.
KERRY SMITH
President
Kerry founded Red 7 Media, LLC in 2002 after a 7-year stint at Primedia, Inc. where he ran a group of 8 business-to-business magazines including American Demographics, PROMO, Corporate Meetings & Incentives and others. Prior to his joining Primedia, Kerry and his father ran their own publishing company which they started in 1987 and sold to Cowles Business Media in 1996. Kerry’s passion is creating and launching quality information products that serve niche markets and surrounding himself with talented, passionate teammates who excel at bringing them to life and serving their markets.
