FOLIO: Founder to Receive 2006 Crain Award
American Business Media announced Tuesday its selection of Joe Hanson, chairman of the Professional Media Group and FOLIO:’s original founder, as the recipient of the 2006 Crain Award.
Hanson founded FOLIO: in 1972 and served as its editor and publisher until 1991. He also developed successful brand extensions like The FOLIO: Show and FOLIO: 400;prompting Time magazine to dub FOLIO: the “bible of the magazine industry.”
The annual award, which honors an individual’s contributions to editorial excellence in business media, will be presented during the Neal Awards ceremony, March 23 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.
