F+W Partners with Google
Deal enhances revenue incentives for publisher’s partner sites, company says.
In a step to further the publisher’s e-commerce strategy, F+W Media has announced a partnership with Google’s Affiliate Network. The deal, F+W said, enables the company to utilize “easy-to-employ” promotional tools and offer revenue incentives to partner sites that drive e-commerce through F+W’s Web stores.
In the second half of 2008, F+W launched five e-commerce-focused sites, including WritersDigestStore.com, PopulatWoodworkingShop.com, MyCraftivityShop.com, ArtistsNetworkShop.com and ClearanceBooks.com. Each site includes products for sale such as magazines, books, CDs and DVDs.
According to CEO David Nussbaum, F+W has grown its e-commerce revenues more than 140 percent over the last 12 months. “Increased direct-to-consumer online sales through our community-focused Web stores is a priority,” he said. “Adding this revenue opportunity for our partners is the logical next step.”
The Google Affiliate Network is operated by DoubleClick Performics, an affiliate network launched in 1998. It was purchased by Google in March 2008.
