Vogue Unveils iPhone App
The big fashion magazine has joined the mobile ranks, unveiling this week its application for the iPhone. The app, called “Vogue Stylist,” directs users to advertisers’ Web sites when they click on or take a photo of and upload one of the ads.
According to the Wall Street Journal, “The app can be used to upload items from one’s own wardrobe and sort them by designer brand, color or trend, as identified in the current Vogue issue. Users can search trends and find suggestions–populated by computer algorithms–based on the clothes they own and the ones shown in that month’s Vogue.”
Zinio Partners with Kia on Cross-Publisher Ad Network
As part of the advertising campaign for its 2011 Sorento CUV, Kia Motors American said it would collaborate with digital magazine vendor Zinio to create a digital ad that spans 15 publishing groups in its Zinio Publisher Advertising Network. Zinio said ZPAN is the digital magazine industry’s first cross-publisher ad network. Kia, of course, is the first advertiser to utilize it.
By leveraging the network, Kia’s digital ad will be placed in the March and April issues of more than 45 digital magazines spanning several markets, including: Car and Driver, Esquire, PC World, SmartMoney, VIVmag and Yoga Journal.
Participating publishers include Active Interest Media, Bonnier, Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., Hearst and Source Interlink Media.
