Demand Studio Shares Financial Earnings from 2009 and Fourth Quarter
Net loss down to $5.3 million from 2009's net loss of $22.5 million.
Demand Media shared its fourth quarter and fiscal 2010 financial results today.
Demand Media’s revenue totaled $252.9 million in 2010, a 27 percent increase from $198.5 million in 2009. Cash flows also rose 57 percent from 2009’s $39.2 million to $61.6 million in 2010.
Net loss was down to $5.3 million in 2010 from a net loss of $22.5 million in 2009.
Demand Media President/CFO Charles Hillard said, “Strong continued growth from our evergreen content library published prior to 2010 helped drive two major achievements in the fourth quarter – Content & Media revenue ex-TAV accelerated to 53 percent year-over-year growth and cash flows from operations grew 95 percent year-over-year, surpassing the $20 million milestone for the first time.”
2010’s fourth quarter net income was $1 million, compared to a net loss of $3.9 million in 2009’s final quarter. Cash flow was up 95 percent in 2010’s fourth quarter at $20.9 million, compared to $10.7 million in 2009’s fourth quarter.
Demand Media, which went public last month, houses content-driven sites produced by freelancers in its content and media portfolio, including Livestrong and eHow.
