Charity Elder is an award-winning executive producer at Yahoo, where she and her team are redefining news for the digital era.In her role, Elder oversees the operational management of the news video team; in addition, she develops strategy and execution across divisions with the sales, product, homepage, and marketing teams, in order to deliver in full on sponsorship of Yahoo News video programs like “Cities Rising: Rebuilding America,” sponsored by H&R Block, and “Now I Get It,” a weekly explainer series, sponsored by Merrill Edge, both of which feature Katie Couric, Yahoo Global News Anchor.
Elder, a 15-year news veteran, has been with Yahoo for more than four years and during her tenure has managed the editorial content and production of 15 programs, one of which is a Webby Award winner. She also helped to develop show ideas, delivery and content for Yahoo/ABC News co-productions.
A key responsibility of her role as EP is to keep a team of nine associate producers and producers organized and on target. In 2015, Elder and her team ended the year with a 121 percent increase of video streams by more than 2x (year over year) and the team received an impressive number of over 5.8 billion media impressions. Prior to joining Yahoo, Elder was a producer and weekend manager for CBS’ The Early Show, in addition to a previous role at NBC’s Today Show.
