Hollywood Reporter Lays Off 12
Part of Nielsen Business Media’s ongoing ‘reengineering’ effort.
The Hollywood Reporter laid off 12 people last week—including 10 editorial staffers—FOLIO: has confirmed.
The layoffs are part of Nielsen Business Media’s “reengineering” effort to streamline workflow across all publications, according to a spokesperson for the company. This includes “moving people to new positions, creating new positions, and the elimination of old ones,” she said.
The process of reevaluating the business is ongoing, the spokesperson said, adding that no additional layoffs are planned at this time.
In April, the company laid off as many as three dozen staffers across the editorial departments of Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek and the Hollywood Reporter. The cuts came on the heels of reports that Nielsen Business Media was considering a sale of its business titles.
The latest cuts at Nielsen Business Media, according to the spokesperson, are not part of the 10 percent overall workforce reduction at its parent company.
