COLE Publishing Sells EQ Mag, Replaces With New Launch
EQ never panned out as gateway for new tradeshow business.
COLE Publishing, a b-to-b publisher based in Three Lakes Wisconsin, has sold EQ magazine (formerly named Construction Guide) to CFX Network. EQ reaches 32,000 readers in the Midwest. Terms of the deal were not released. The entire EQ staff will remain with COLE.
In 2007, COLE purchased Construction Guide in hopes that it would help attract a new group of advertisers to a COLE tradeshow called Pumper & Cleaner Environmental Expo, according to president Jeff Bruss. "That unfortunately never came to fruition, and the magazine didn’t really fit our business model – primarily wastewater – so we decided to sell," he adds.
COLE has replaced EQ with a new launch, Gas, Oil, & Mining Contractor, which reaches 26,000 readers in the U.S. and another 5,600 in Canada. Last year COLE launched Treatment Plant Operator.
