CMP Acquires HDI for $24.5M
Deal to broaden company’s portfolio “beyond the call center."
CMP has acquired Colorado Springs-based Think Service, including HDI (formerly the Help Desk Institute), the world’s largest membership association for IT help desk and service management professionals, for $24.5 million. HDI will be an independent operating unit within CMP’s International Customer Management Institute (ICMI) group under vice president and global brand director Ruthann Fisher. Think Service president and COO Peggy Libbey, will continue to manage the operational direction of HDI.
Philip Chapnick, CMP group president, says the acquisition will broaden the company’s portfolio of services “beyond the call center to help desk and IT support centers creating a full service offering to these professionals on a global scale. We are also particularly interested in capitalizing on existing ICMI and HDI businesses operating globally."
