Circulation directors and managers at consumer magazines tend to be paid more than their b-to-b counterparts with similar experience. Consumer circulation directors with 1 to 3 years experience reported salaries between $77,800 and $87,800, compared to a range of $57,200 and $64,400 for trade magazine circulation directors. The highest reported salary for consumer circulation directors was $160,000, while the highest reported salary for a trade magazine circulation director was $135,000.
