Cathleen McGuigan Tapped as Architectural Record EIC
Will also act as editorial director of GreenSource and SNAP.
McGraw-Hill Construction has named Cathleen McGuigan editor-in-chief of Architectural Record. McGuigan comes from Newsweek, where she had been a senior editor.
Before joining Architectural Record, McGuigan had been with Newsweek since 1977, where she reported on arts, architecture, publishing, theater, music and movies.
In her new role, McGuigan will also act as editorial director for GreenSource (a sustainable design magazine) and SNAP (a products publication).
Architectural Record, which has run for over 120 years, was awarded the 2010 FOLIO:’s Gold Eddie for best online community. Since launching three years ago, Architectural Record has over 87,000 members on the site. AR also took home a Gold 2010 Ozzie for best cover, B-to-B above 100,000 circulation, for their December 2009 issue.
GreenSource magazine was awarded the 2010 Gold Ozzie for best redesign, B-to-B, for the January 2010 issue. GreenSource also received the 2010 Gold Eddie for B-to-B, construction/commercial design/manufacturing, Web site.
