Canon Purchases Euro Pharma Event
Publisher looking to expand its reach into $9 billion packaging market.
Canon Communications has acquired the Pharmpack trade show, Europe’s leading annual event for the $9 billion pharmaceutical packaging industry. The show kicked off this week in Paris.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Canon, a division of Apprise Media, purchased the event from French organizer Oriex—the Organization of International Congresses and Exhibitions. Next year, the publisher plans to hold its BIOMEDevice Europe conference and exhibition alongside the Pharmpack show, it says.
Last month, Canon announced its launch of the PharmaMed Marketing & Media conference and exposition, multiple track program covering topics such as regulatory compliance in ad campaigns, best practices for electronic media and case studies of major new product launches. Canon publishes medical magazines including Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging News, Med Ad News and R&D Directions.
