Bonnier to Shutter Print Travel Magazines
Islands to go digital while Destination Weddings & Honeymoons says goodnight.
Erika Hueneke, editorial director of the travel group, was let go last week. Editor-in-chief of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons since 2014, Hueneke became editorial director of Bonnier’s travel group in March following the departure of Jennifer Ceaser.
Ceaser held the roles of editorial director and editor-in-chief of Islands for less than a year before being let go from Bonnier.
Rebecca Kinnear, senior editor of the travel group, will remain in her position and report to Shawn Bean, editorial director of Bonnier Corporation’s Active Interest Network.
Islands first launched in 1981 and reports a circulation of 100,000 along with an average of 543,000 unique monthly visitors, according to its 2016 media kit. In June, Bonnier announced a video partnership with Wibbitz which included content for Islands.
Destination Weddings & Honeymoons launched in 2005. The 2016 media kit reports an average of 228,000 unique monthly visitors and a circulation of 100,000.
