Ascend Joins Intergrated Media Consortium
Ascend Media, a b-to-b publisher serving the medical, healthcare and business services industries, cited the increased cost in paper as one of the main reasons it joined the cooperative. "As the paper market has become turbulent, we see the cooperative as one of the ways to quell the storm," said Tom Fogarty, vice president of production at Ascend, in a statement. "The strength of joining forces with the coop gives us more leverage in the marketplace."
Dan Altman, COO of Ascend Media said in a statement that he believes the savings will be felt across multiple cost centers within Ascend. "We will realize ROI from just the program with ADP, while our most significant savings will be with paper."
Bill Walker, President & CEO of IMC, said Ascend brings a strong knowledge-base to the consortium. "They bring considerable credibility to our organization and their publishing expertise will add to our knowledge base as we evaluate potential partners for products and services. IMC members collaborate with suppliers of goods and services to acheive reduced competition, greater than average growth, reduced marketing costs, and open communication and information flow.
