Cathrine Khom graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in healthcare administration in 2016. Throughout her studies, she also founded and acted as editor-in-chief of her own monthly magazine, Local Wolves.
As editor, she manages a team of staff members and contributors spread across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and elsewhere to produce an online and print magazine focused on art, music, entertainment, film, and culture. In addition to overseeing the content, layout and distribution of the magazine, Khom collaborates with brands and influencers to create unique features and projects. Within four years, the online magazine has achieved 20 million impressions with 4,000 regular readers around the world. She’s also built an impressive following across social media channels. The largest and most engaged is on Instagram, where Local Wolves has attracted a force of more than 40,000 people.
Digital publishing platform Issuu recognized Khom in the company’s first-ever awards for Millennial publishers and selected Local Wolves as one of the six best millennial-produced publications out of a pool of 11 million. Along the same lines, Issuu.com has chosen Local Wolves to spotlight multiple times in the company’s newsletter and website—a nod of respect to this young rising star.
