2015 Folio: 100 Honorees – Director-Level Doers
Early this year, The Economist named Zanny Minton Beddoes editor of the magazine—the first female top editor in the history of the title. Prior to that, Beddoes had been serving as the title’s business affairs editor and was responsible for coverage of business, finance and science. And in August, Pearson announced it was selling its half of The Economist Group to existing shareholders for $730 million, the first major ownership change for the magazine in close to 90 years— though it was stressed that The Economist would remain independent from an editorial perspective.
