In coverage and in practice, the media continues to intertwine with big data. NewBay Media is keeping pace with the trend by acquiring data-driven television research firm, Ratings Intelligence.

Ratings Intelligence provides subscribers with contextualized audience data, along with visualized reports. NewBay says it’ll pair that product with its editorial—the company has several brands that cover television and broadcasting—to give readers a more comprehensive view of the industry.

NewBay doesn’t say how many subscribers Ratings Intelligence has, but it lists top companies like Disney, CBS News and National Geographic among clientele.
Ratings Intelligence CEO, Reess Kennedy, will remain with company.
