NewBay Media is building out utility around its portfolio of audio-visual titles with the acquisition of AV-IQ from InfoComm International, a trade association in the A/V space.

Terms weren’t disclosed.

AV-IQ—a digital product that includes an equipment database, case studies, service directories and product comparison tools—gives NewBay a resource to deploy alongside its six A/V magazines and seven other editorial products. The service was offered for free by InfoComm.

"We are excited to have this unique, valued resource join our industry-leading A/V and IT focused portfolio of brands and services," says Steve Palm, CEO of NewBay Media. "The addition of AV-IQ immediately strengthens our ability to serve the commercial A/V market, and expands NewBay’s data, analytics and lead generation capabilities."

The AV-IQ team will join NewBay and remains headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn.

The purchase follows NewBay’s spring acquisition of Ratings Intelligence, a data-driven television research firm.
