B-to-b mobile content publisher Industry Dive, which now serves eight verticals including healthcare, education and construction, has hired Randy Lilleston as editor-in-chief.
Lilleston, who was most recently a supervising editor of digital news at NPR, will be charged with building out more of the company’s original reporting. Up to now, Industry Dive, which launched in early 2012, has offered a mix of curated and original content.
"As we’ve grown, we’ve invested more in original and in-depth content," says Sean Griffey, Industry Dive’s founder and CEO. "We are hiring an editor-in-chief now because we have ambitions to grow our editorial operations. Additionally, as we launch into new markets and go deeper into our existing ones, we recognized that consistency and quality of content will be a growing issue."
In the last two years, Griffey says the company has built an audience of one million users across the platform of products serving the eight verticals, including mobile apps, websites and email.
Industry Dive has grown to 15 full-time employees and has been profitable since mid-2013, Griffey says.
