Thursday, the Content Marketing Institute announced that it has acquired Intelligent Content Conference from The Rockley Group and its co-producer The Content Wrangler.
Although CMI declined to disclose terms of the deal, the company will be absorbing both of ICC’s events–Intelligent Content Conference, which will be held again in March 2015 and Intelligent Content Life Sciences & Healthcare, a new event that launched in May.
The two additional conferences will complement CMI’s annual Content Marketing World event that will be held in Cleveland in September. That gathering is expected to attract around 2,500 attendees–a much higher number than ICC’s event , which has grown to around 400 attendees.
"Enterprise organizations are beginning to view content as an organizational asset," CMI founder Joe Pulizzi tells FOLIO:. "And how brands leverage content from one source into multiple platforms, and localized to different geographies is key. So as the industry becomes more complex, marketers need to be educated with a deep understanding of content strategy, governance, content management, omni-channel publishing and more. This is the reason why Intelligent Content is so important to us at CMI. Content marketers cannot develop programs in a bubble anymore, and need to get smarter about how their content is adaptable, reusable, and how that content is managed and what technologies are used to make this process easier."
