Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia has named board member Daniel Dienst as its CEO. Dienst, who will need to guide the company through a turnaround, recently joined the company’s board of directors and is the fifth CEO since 2008.

"We are excited to welcome Dan as the new CEO of MSLO," says founder and non-executive chairman Martha Stewart in a statement. " He is a highly respected and experienced public company CEO with strong operating and financial discipline and a clear track record of creating significant value for shareholders.  Dan will take on the important responsibility of leading the company and ensuring that we are able to deliver on our strategy for renewed growth."

Prior to joining MSLO’s board of directors, Dienst was CEO of Sims Metal Management, Ltd., an Australia-based metal recycling company, from 2008 to June 2013.
