Time Inc., Quad/Graphics Expand Printing Partnership
The global printing firm will produce over 85 percent of Time Inc. publications.
The deal, a multi-year arrangement beginning in 2014 worth more than $900 million, calls for Quad/Graphics to print 19 titles and more than 85 percent of Time Inc.â€™s total volume. The work represents a 35 percent incremental increase in volume over the life of the contract.
â€śWe strive for continuous improvement in our operations with the goal of delivering increasingly timely and relevant content through all of our magazine brands,â€ť Guy Gleysteen, senior vice president of Production at Time Inc., says in a statement. â€śAligning the majority of our magazines with Quad is going to provide a unique opportunity for the two companies to drive innovation and efficiency.â€ť
Quad/Graphics will take over the printing of monthlies All You, Essence, People StyleWatch and Real Simple, and expand its regional work on Time and People. The Wisconsin-based companyâ€”who also works with Conde Nast, Hearst, Meredith and Rodale, among othersâ€”is already the exclusive printer for several other Time Inc. brands including Entertainment Weekly.
