Summit Business Media Centralizes Customer Solutions Operation

Jeff Patterson hired to run the group, which represents 13 percent of revenues.

Summit Business Media, under the direction of Steve Weitzner, who was brought in as the company's CEO in February, is continuing to build out its operational structure. A new Customer Solutions Group has been formed, which centralizes marketing services under one roof. Jeff Patterson, recently hired from Mile 21 LLC as senior vice president, customer solutions, will run it.

The group, says the company, accounts for 13 percent of revenues.

Reporting to Patterson will be the heads of several teams that now feed into Customer Solutions, including Jeff Schottland, recently promoted to director of lead generation for the company; chief audience officer Peter Westerman; Integrated Marketing Services group head Josh Heitsenrether; Strategic Content Group leader Elliot Markowitz; and Data Business leader Eric Ryles.

Execution on truly integrated marketing solutions has always relied on input and contributions from several different teams within a publisher, and centralizing the various elements makes sense operationally, says Weitzner. "By bringing these strengths together in one unit we can offer our clients measurable, results-driven programs drawing on content creation, audience marketing and creative capabilities from across Summit," he said in a statement.
