Magazine Nods Abound in 2012 Webby Nominees

The 16th annual Webby Awards nominees were announced today by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. Continuing last year's trend, magazine candidates are recognized in several of almost 70 Webby categories, which honor the best in websites, movie and film, apps, mobile, advertising and more.

National Geographic, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Vanity Fair and WIRED will compete in the Best Magazine category. Other magazine nominees include:

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, David Bowie and Instagram founder Kevin Systrom will be among the judges who select the Webby winners, to be announced on May 1 and honored at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on May 21. Voting for The Webby People’s Voice Awards is open through April 26.
