TIME For a Makeover
Magazine unveils design updates tomorrow.
Tomorrow, TIME Magazine will show off its makeover.
After months of trial, the editors of TIME have created a new version of the iconic magazine. Though some of the publication remains the same, other features will be transformed.
In his editorâs note, TIME managing editor Richard Stengel says, âIf you think this issue of TIME looks a bit different, youâre right. Weâve tweaked the front of the magazine, adding an Economy page and a photo spread; moved 10 Questions to the back page; and created one large section called The Culture, which combines the old Life and Arts sections.â
Letters to the editor include stats on which stories are getting the best Twitter pick-up (TIME has an entire team devoted to writing Twitter captions) and full-page spreads in the front.
Executive editor Nancy Gibbs, assistant managing editor Radhika Jones and design director D. W. Pine drove the changes.
The debut of TIMEâs new layout includes Colin Firth opening The Culture section, as well as commentary on butter substitutes, âgrievingâ memoirs and Michelle Obama closing the publication with 10 Questions.
