SI’s Golf Group US Open Preview Sets Ad Page Record

Ad pages also up 10 percent year over year for Golf and SI Golf Plus.

The Sports Illustrated Golf Plus US Open Preview, a standalone issue of SI Golf Plus, generated 43 ad-pages, a record high for the issue and a 33 percent increase from the same issue last year. Available to SI subscribers, the issue will be out this Wednesday, June 8.

The issue includes three multi-page gatefolds from Titleist, Callaway and Northwest Mutual.

In addition to record numbers for the Golf Plus US Open Preview, SI’s Golf Magazine and SI Golf Plus are also seeing growth, with ad pages up 10 percent in year-over-year comparison for the first half of 2011.

SI’s See-Try-Buy program continues to grow as well, with golf and equipment apparel ad pages up 10 percent in year-over-year comparison for Golf Plus. Launched in 2009, The See-Try-Buy program is an editorially focused initiative, in which Sports Illustrated staffers test various golf equipment and share reviews with readers.

After reading reviews, consumers can then customize and purchase equipment through See-Try-Buy retail partners Golf TEC and Golfsmith.
