The Custom Content Council received a record 638 entries for its annual award ceremony this year, and 160 guests gathered in New York City last night to celebrate the winners. Gold, silver and bronze awards were given in design, editorial and strategic initiatives in print and digital custom media. In the strategy category, 30+ judges weighed in on the synergy of companies’ custom publications and the sponsoring organization’s integrated marketing effort, as well as the resulting ROI.
Leading the winning pack is Pace Communications, which received 19 awards. TMG, the big winner in 2009 with 19 Pearls, took home 18 awards. Totem Brand Stories took 13 Pearls, while Story Worldwide won 11. The newly branded Meredith Xcelerated Marketing was awarded 9 Pearls.
American Express Publishing, Custom Media won the overall Best in Custom Award for R.24, a bi-annual magazine for Renaissance Hotel guests.
At the reception, Pace’s founder and CEO Bonnie McElveen Hunter was recognized with the John Caldwell Lifetime Achievement Award, "recognizing her incredible contributions to the custom content industry, which she founded over 30 years ago," according to a CCC statement.
