How Satisfied Are You With Your Digital Edition? Take the Survey…
Nxtbook’s 2011 State of the Digital Edition Industry survey is now live.
Nxtbook Media has opened up its 2011 State of the Digital Edition Industry for publishers.
The report looks at how satisfied publishers are with their digital edition readership and revenue, and how aggressively they're pursuing apps and digitally optimized titles.
Results are made available first to those who complete the survey and publishers are also eligible for an iPad, which will be given away at a Nxtbook/FOLIO: webinar in November. You can take the survey here.
Last year, about 40 percent of respondents reported modest to great satisfaction with digital editions, while 38 percent were somewhat dissatisfied, and 22 percent were quite dissatisfied. Business-to-business publishers were more satisfied than their consumer counterparts, with 50 percent saying they are somewhat to greatly pleased with their digital circulation.
However, last year's survey took place during the infancy of the app age. More than 47.8 percent of respondents last year said they are aggressively moving to mobile apps, while 36.3 percent said they planned to but didn't feel any rush. With many publishers starting to see actual paid circulation revenue from digital editions, it will be interesting to see how attitudes have changed.
