Dorchester Media Puts Entertainment, Select Romance Mag Assets on the Block

New York City-based Dorchester Media LLC is fielding offers for the assets of its Lifestyle Entertainment Teen Magazine and Romance Groups. Dorchester previously ceased publication of the magazines, which include Right On! and Black Beat in the youth category and four titles in the romance category (including Black Romance) but maintains a Web presence for Right On! and Black Beat.
Dorchester, which at one time published an estimated one million romance magazines per month, continues to publish romance titles such as True Story (with more than 250,000 paid subscribers) as well as 40 paperback books. Between the book and magazine divisions, Dorchester generates an estimated $50 million in annual revenue.
