Management Changes at Canon
Trade publisher names CFO; vice chairman steps in as COO.

Los Angeles-based Canon Communications has made a pair of changes to its management team. Vice chairman Michael Behringer will take on the additional role of COO, the company says. His focus will be on product development, business development, corporate development, operations, legal and corporate affairs.
Behringer also will maintain his role as managing director of Canon’s parent Apprise Media.
Meanwhile, Fred Gysi was named CFO, replacing Dan Koskovich, who is leaving the company. Most recently, Gysi served as CFO at crafts company Creativity Inc. Before that he served in the same capacity at video game developer THQ.
According to Canon chairman and CEO Charles McCurdy, the changes were made to align the company for continued growth. “We have broadened our product offerings beyond print and events into digital and data while greatly expanding our geographic focus into key international markets,†he says in a statement. “These management changes, both in personnel and structure, will allow Canon to continue its strong growth path.â€
In addition, acting human resources head Terry Pasteris was named vice president of HR.
Earlier this year, Canon acquired Electronic Design News (EDN), Design News, Test & Measurement World and Packaging Digest from Reed Business Information.
