Hachette Creates ‘Emerging Platforms’ Position
Ex-business, corporate development VP to oversee new projects across platforms.

In a move to further manage its content across platforms like the iPad, Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. has created a new position called vice president of emerging platforms. Florent Peyre, Hachette’s vice president of business and corporate development, will assume that new position.
“New platforms such as iPad, e-readers, and tablets join mobile to present exciting opportunities for content producers like us,” Hachette executive vice president and COO Philippe Guelton says in a release. “Our brand groups and Hachette Digital are fully engaged in creating new experiences for our consumers and advertisers by developing a stream of products and services that will expand audiences and revenue streams.
“Florent will concentrate on these new opportunities as well as the continuing development of mobile,” he adds.
Hachette currently owns six mobile sites, five iPhone apps and two iPad apps. The company says it plans to roll out a variety of new products “in the coming months.”
