F+W Media has appointed Kathleen Kaplan Blackwelder to director of e-commerce, overseeing the company's 20 e-stores and the team that manages them. Blackwelder most recently served as director of e-commerce marketing for national retailer The Finish Line. F+W said it has seen its e-commerce business grow more than 140 percent so far this year.
Bloomberg named award winning journalist and PBS executive producer/host Charlie Rose a weekly columnist at BusinessWeek. Rose will interview âthe best thinkers, CEOs, politicians and other newsmakers,â Bloomberg said. Roseâs appointment is effective when Bloombergâs acquisition of BusinessWeek from McGraw-Hill is complete.
Less than a week after saying it would farm out Playboy magazineâs advertising sales, circulation, marketing, production and all other business operations (not editorial) to American Media Inc., Playboy Enterprises promoted Jimmy Jellinek to chief content officer. Playboy promoted the former Maxim editor-in-chief early this year to editorial directorâoverseeing the companyâs combined editorial contentâafter he served as senior vice president of the companyâs former digital content division.
Erin Griffis was named Pacific Northwest manager at Hearstâs Country Living. Previously, Griffis served as San Francisco manager at Cooking Light.
Bauer Publisher appointed Rachel Chang editor-in-chief of J-14, effective immediately. Chang previously served as executive editor under Molly MacDermot, who remains editor-in-chief of M magazine.
