Trade Magazine Circulation Remains Steady in First Half

ABC reports 0.85 percent increase over first half of 2007.

Trade magazine circulation remained mostly flat during the first half with total average paid and qualified non-paid circulation increasing 0.85 percent over the same period in 2007, according to the latest Fas-Fax report released by the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

The top three biggest decliners in total average paid and qualified non-paid circulation for the first half were System News (-18.35 percent), Oakland Business Review (-10.67 percent) and How-Design Ideas That Work (-10.66 percent).

Among the largest gainers during the first half were the Los Angeles Business Journal (61.01 percent), San Fernando Valley Business Journal (49.54 percent) and I.D. magazine (24.1 percent). Tech and Learning, which has the third highest circulation among the 122 b-to-b magazines tracked by ABC, posted a 21.18 percent increase during the half.

With a total average paid and qualified non-paid circulation of 10,000, FOLIO: increased circ 4.82 percent during the first half.

Earlier this month, the ABC released its first half consumer magazine FAS-FAX report, indicating that overall newsstand circ was down 6.2 percent for the period. Among the biggest decliners in total paid and verified circulation: Bauer's Life & Style and In Touch, down 30 percent and 27.7 percent in overall paid circulation and 30.2 percent and 28.7 percent in single copy sales, respectively.
