Regional Publisher Shutters Home Magazine, Lays Off 11
Decision to shut down monthly title not an easy one, company says.

Idearc Media, the Dallas, Texas-based publisher of the Verizon White and Yellow Pages, has folded its monthly Solutions at Home magazine and laid off 11 employees from its Annapolis, Maryland office.
“We are no longer producing our Solutions at Home magazines in Annapolis, which featured two titles—Chesapeake and Baltimore,” an Idearc spokesperson
told
the Baltimore Sun newspaper. “These business decisions are never easy.”
A spokesperson did not immediately return a FOLIO: request for comment.
Idearc’s first quarter revenues were $770 million, down 4.5 percent over the same period in 2007. Net income was $111 million, up 7.8 percent. First quarter EBITDA was $359 million, up 1.4 from the same period last year.
Idearc will continue publishing its Solutions at Hand magazine.
