UPDATE: Murder Suspect Pleads ‘Not Guilty'

Police in Burbank, California have named Jorge Ernesto Villalobos as the suspect in connection with the alleged brutal murder of Hallmark Data Systems’ Glen Giles [pictured right].

The 41-year-old Villalobos, of San Gabriel, California, is in custody.

Giles’ alleged murder was not a random act, police said late Friday. It is believed that Villalobos was angry over Giles’ apparent relationship with a mutual female friend.

Giles, 47, was stabbed multiple times sometime Monday night and his body was found Tuesday morning, police said.

Giles was an influential figure in magazine circulation, having begun his career as an auditor at BPA Worldwide, and then worked at several fulfillment companies, include ESP, Strategic and Hutchins.

Villalobos was arraigned today in Pasadena Superior Court and is being held on $1 million bail. The investigation is ongoing.

Prosecution

California is a death penalty state for murder one. Can someone explain why, with such a violent crime and a quick arrest, that the prosecution isn't going for death or, at minimum, life WITHOUT parole? For all of us that were close to Glen, this part of the equation doesn't seem right either.
Not Guilty

So he pleads not guilty huh? He seems like the cocky sort already. This is the type of guy who is going to run his mouth in prison and get himself killed which I strongly condone. Rest in Peace Glen, Vengeance is ours!

Glen was a great man! He didn't deserve this (as most usually don't) and I hope he rests in peace and that justice is served where justice is due. MM

The Metropolitan BPOE realizes the void Glen has left with our Hoop Shoot program. His energy and charisma catapulted the participation to a new high. Thanks Glen and rest in peace.

Glen will be missed by all who knew him. He was always willing to lend a hand whenever we needed him, and his always glowing smile will stay in our hearts. Our prayers are with him, his family and friends, and the prosecution! May we give glen the justice he deserves and may his murderer never see the light of day or have the chance to do this to some other innocent person. We loved you Glen!! May you be in God's arms and Heaven waiting to greet us when our time comes. Yours was too early....
