AARP, Cosmopolitan, Time Out Chicago, Forbes, more ...

Ned Desmond, president of Time Inc. Interactive and a 22-year veteran of Time Inc. is leaving the company as a result of Time’s recent corporate restructuring. In addition to running Time Inc. Interactive for the past six years, Desmond served as an Asian correspondent for Time, including bureau chief in New Delhi and Tokyo, and as president of Business 2.0. 

Nancy Perry Graham has been promoted from deputy editor to editor of AARP the Magazine, replacing Steve Slon, who resigned in July. Senior vice president and AARP Publications editor-in-chief Hugh Delehanty served as interim editor.

Time Out Chicago has appointed Vicki Pelling as advertising director. Most recently, Pelling served as senior executive at Zoeller Media Sales.

Meredith Corp. has announced a pair of promotions: Elise Contarsy has been named vice president of brand licensing and David Johnson was named vice president of corporate development.

Author Kathie Lee Joel has been named a food columnist at Cosmopolitan. Lee, who is married to singer Billy Joel, will contribute a monthly column featuring recipes and cooking tips.

Forbes has promoted Stewart Pinkerton and Tom Post to managing editors. Pinkerton and Post most recently served as deputy managing editors.

Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. has announced a pair of personnel changes: former Road & Track vice president and publisher John Driscoll has been promoted to vice president and group publisher of the company’s automotive group; and Robert Houghtlin, who served as vice president and publisher of Car and Driver, was promoted to vice president of sales for Hachette’s Jumpstart Automotive Media.

Jupitermedia president, director and COO Christopher Cardell has resigned. Cardell held those positions since the company launched in 1998. In his immediate absence, chairman and CEO Alan Meckler will also serve as president and COO.

Maryellen Mooney reportedly has been named New York account director at Saveur. Mooney joins the Bonnier Corp. title from Condé Nast Publications where she held positions at Bon Appétit and Gourmet.

Public relations agency the Rosen Group has promoted Shawna Seldon to senior vice president. Previously, Seldon served as vice president.
