Jeff Wellington reportedly has left Reader’s Digest as vice president and publisher. He joined RD in October from Bonnier’s Parenting Group where he served as president and group publisher. In a separate move, the Reader’s Digest Association promoted Kerry Hatch to president of its school and educational services division, replacing Michael Geltzeiler who is leaving the association.
Entertainment Weekly has named Michael Ausiello as a columnist. For nearly a decade, Ausiello has served as a senior writer at TV Guide magazine and TVGuide.com.
Time Inc.'s Fortune-Money Group has appointed Lori Dente as general manager. Previously, Dente served as CFO/COO of Alpha Media Group, the parent company of Maxim and Blender.
Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. has announced several promotions: Lynn Heatherton is now vice president of corporate planning, Dorothee Walliser is vice president and publisher of Filipacchi Publishing, Jennifer Bernhaim and Katherine Daniels have been promoted to vice presidents and associate general counsel, Michael Esposito is vice president of operations, Philip Ketonis is vice president of consumer marketing, Will Michalopoulos is vice president of retail sales and marketing, and Florent Peyre has been promoted to vice president of business and corporate development.
Miguel Forbes has been promoted to president of Forbes Television and Licensing. Forbes had served as vice president of business development since 2000, having overseen the international editions including Forbes Korea, Forbes Russia and Forbes China.
The here! Networks has named Jon Barrett editor-in-chief of the Advocate and Advocate.com. Barrett replaces Anne Stockwell who resigned. In April, here! Networks purchased the Advocate and Out magazines from Planet Out Inc. for $6 million.
LabX, the scientific equipment and supplies company that purchased Lab Manager magazine in April, has named Mario Di Ubaldi publisher of LabX and Lab Manager. Most recently Di Ubaldi served as publisher of Advantage Business Media’s science group.
