Former Health and Cooking Light editor Lisa Delaney has been named editor-in-chief of Spry, Publishing Group of America’s new health magazine which is set to launch in September. Delaney is also author of the book, Secrets of a Former Fat Girl: How to Lose Two, Four (or More!) Dress Sizes-and Find Yourself Along the Way.

F+W Publications has announced several personnel changes to its magazine division: Allan Hoving has been named online production manager, Guy LeCharles Gonzalez has been named advertising director and Alaleh Konoudi and Jay Gussack have been named online sales managers.

Rodale has promoted Valerie Valente to senior vice president and publishing director of Rodale Custom Publishing. Most recently, Valente served as vice president and publishing director of the custom publishing group.

Thos L. Bryant, Road & Track magazine’s longest serving editor-in-chief, has decided to retire at the end of July. Bryant will retain the title of editor emeritus and will continue to contribute to the magazine.

Esquire has announced a pair of promotions: merchandising director Kate Carrington was named creative services director and special projects manager Dawn Sheggeby was named integrated marketing director.

Tiffany Lo Vincent has joined Time Inc.’s corporate sales and marketing team as beauty/fashion category director. Vincent most recently served as a freelance fashion projects director at Hearst Integrated Media.

Hachette Filipachi Media U.S. has named Claire Marin as associate publisher of Women’s Day. Marin previously served as associate publisher of More magazine for the last three years.

Forbes has named Lawrence Kaplan vice president and managing director of ForbesTraveler.com and ForbesAutos.com. Kaplan joins Forbes from LTB Media where he most recently served as president of sales and marketing.

Brides.com—the online home of Brides, Modern Bride and Elegant Bride magazines—has named Michelle Preli as editor-in-chief. Previously, Preli served as vice president of editorial programming at NBC’s iVillage.com.

Digital publisher Advanced Publishing Corporation has appointed Gina Gavish as U.S. Northeast sales director. Previously, Gavish served as advertising director at Red 7 Media, FOLIO:'s parent company.

B-to-b media company PenWell Corporation, publisher of 75 print and online magazines, has named Peter Singer as editor-in-chief of Solid State Technology magazine. Most recently, Singer was editor-in-chief of Semiconductor International.

Time Out New York has announced three new hires: Billie Cohen, editor of Time Out Singapore and former TONY staffer, has been named deputy editor. Erin Wylie, associate online editor at Martha Stewart Omnimedia, has been named editor of the "Seek" section. Allison Williams, former features editor of the New York Metro, has been named as assistant editor of "Seek."

David Weinand, most recently the director of advertising at the Jacksonville Business Journal, will join Edgell Communications as publisher of RIS News, effective April 9.

Replacing Jay Lauf as Wired publisher is former Details vice president and publisher Chris Mitchell. Lauf accepted the publisher position at the Atlantic.

Martha Stewart Omnimedia has elected Charlotte Beers and Todd Slotkin to its board of directors. After resigning from her previous post as board director in 2001, Beers for a time served as U.S. Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs for the Bush administration. Slotkin most recently served as director of Citicorp North America. Beers and Slotkin replace Jill Greenthal and Bradley Singer, respectively.

EP Global Communications, parent company of Exceptional Parent magazine, has named Nancy Henderson and Amy Alexander contributing editors. Henderson has written for a number of publications, including Smithsonian, Parade and the New York Times. Alexander is a writer and owner of a non-profit.

TechWeb—one of the four businesses that previously made up CMP Technology—has announced several promotions and other staffing changes. Promotions include: Tom Smith has been named vice president of Web analytics, Greg Kerwin has been named vice president of global development, Brandon Freisen has been named vice president of sales, Chris Harding has been named vice president of integrated media, John Dennehy has been named vice president of finance, and Beth Rivera has been named vice president of human resources. New hires include: Martha Schwartz as vice president of integrated media, Mike Grover as director of SEO strategy, and Phil Ripperger as director of sales of TechWeb’s security events.
