Staffing changes at Rachael Ray, Interview and more ...
After nearly two decades as editor-in-chief, Ingrid Sischy has left Interview magazine. A major reason for her departure is Brant Publications co-owner Sandra Brant's decision to sell her stake in the company, Sischy said in a statement. The publisher later named Fabien Baron and Glenn O’Brien editorial directors for Brant Publications.
Rodale has promoted executive director Sean Nolan to associate vice president of Men's Health online editorial. Nolan, who has been with the company since 2004, assumed editorial direction of menshealth.com last year.
Hachette Filippachi U.S. has named former Hearst marketing director Renee Ifill associate publisher of marketing for Women's Day magazine. She replaces Lori Flynn who has left the comany.
Lebhar-Friedman, a b-to-b media company, has promoted Tom Larranaga to publisher of Nation's Restaurant News. He succeeds Alan Gould who has left the company.
Vibe Media Group has announced a number of personnel changes. Vibe magazine editor-in-chief Danyel Smith has been named vice president and editorial director. Former associate publisher Gary R. Lewis has been promoted to chief marketing officer. He is replaced by Edgar Hernandez, who joined the company in September.
The Week has appointed Danielle Yuen as marketing director. Most recently, Yuen served as creative services director at Self. Before that, she was promotions director for Meredith Corp.'s More magazine.
American Media Inc. has named Dean Durbin executive vice president and CFO of American Media Operations. Previously, Durbin was CEO of Vertis Communications. Durbin replaces Jack Craven who has resigned but will stay on as a consultant. [SEE RELATED STORY: AMI Swaps CEOs Again.]
Bonnier Corp. has announced two staffing changes. Tracy Gavant has been named group publisher of Bonnier Corp.’s Spa, Garden Design and Home magazines. Before joining Bonnier, Gavant served as president of publishing for Hachette Filipacchi Media’s Elle Décor. Ascend Media's Howard Roth has been named to the newly-created position of vice president of eMedia.
Niche Media has appointed Susanna Homan as executive editor of Michigan Avenue magazine, which is set to launch September 15. Homan’s most recent position was vice president of corporate communications at a Chicago-based advertising firm.
Real Simple magazine has named Regina Buckley as general manager. Previously, Buckley served as business director at Time.com and finance director at All You. In her 10 years at Time Inc., Buckley has worked for Time, Time Europe and Time Style and Design.
Mark Rushton is joining RISI's magazine editorial group as editor of Pulp & Paper International. He comes from Digital Printer and Print & Paper Monthly where he served as editor.
Debra Boyd has been named assistant corporate controller for special interest magazine and book publisher DRG. Most recently, Boyd was director of finance for a health care group.
Book and magazine publisher the Ingram Book Group has promoted David "Skip" Prichard to president and CEO. Previsouly, Prichard served as COO.
e.Republic has announced a pair of staffing changes. Drew Noel was named corporate marketing director, and will handle the firm's branding and marketing campaigns. Zach Presnall was named corporate Web marketing manager. Previoulsy, Presnall was Internet marketing program manager at Intel.
The American Association of Advertising Agencies is set to name Nancy Hill, a former executive at Lowe Worldwide, as its next president-CEO, according to AdAge. The move still needs the approval of the 4A's board, which could come as soon as next week. Hill would be the association's first woman CEO.
Public relations agency the Rosen Group has promoted vice president Zachary Hooper to senior vice president.
