Meredith Invests in Women's Social Network
Partnership expected to bump publisherâs monthly online traffic to 15 million.
Meredith Corp. today announced a minority investment in a network of online womenâs social communities.
The investment in the group, called Real Girls Media Network, enhances the âdepth and breadthâ of Meredith Interactive Mediaâs social networking offerings, the company said in a statement. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, Meredith and Real Girls Media will combine inventory and sales teams and Real Girlsâ traffic will link to Meredithâs network of sitesâincreasing the publisherâs monthly unique visitors to approximately 15 million, the company said. Meredith also will begin using Real Girls Mediaâs technology platform to âenhanceâ its existing sites.
Founded in 2006, the Real Girls Media Network includes several womenâs sites, including its flagship DivineCaroline.com, a womenâs site featuring âexpert-guidedâ as well as user generated content.
