Meredith Invests in Women's Social Network
Partnership expected to bump publisherâ€™s monthly online traffic to 15 million.
Meredith Corp. today announced a minority investment in a network of online womenâ€™s social communities.
The investment in the group, called Real Girls Media Network, enhances the â€śdepth and breadthâ€ť of Meredith Interactive Mediaâ€™s social networking offerings, the company said in a statement. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, Meredith and Real Girls Media will combine inventory and sales teams and Real Girlsâ€™ traffic will link to Meredithâ€™s network of sitesâ€”increasing the publisherâ€™s monthly unique visitors to approximately 15 million, the company said.Â Meredith also will begin using Real Girls Mediaâ€™s technology platform to â€śenhanceâ€ť its existing sites.
Founded in 2006, the Real Girls Media Network includes several womenâ€™s sites, including its flagship DivineCaroline.com, a womenâ€™s site featuring â€śexpert-guidedâ€ť as well as user generated content.
